"Soda Pop" is the ninth song featured in the Sony Pictures Animation film, KPop Demon Hunters. It is performed by the Saja Boys, who make their debut busking on the streets of Seoul.

The song was initially released on the film’s official soundtrack on June 20, 2025, and later issued as a promotional single on August 27, 2025.

Description[]

"Soda Pop" serves as the introductory number for the film’s secondary antagonists, the Saja Boys. On the surface, the song seems to be about attraction, depicting someone who is sweet, bubbly, and addictive like soda. Beneath this, it explores themes of craving and temptation, reflecting the Saja Boys’ true nature and their desire to consume the souls of their fans. According to songwriter Danny Chung, the track was composed to be annoyingly catchy, spreading like an infectious earworm to captivate a wide audience.

Trivia[]

  • Producer Ian Eisendrath described the song as aiming to emulate a super bubblegum K-pop song, comparable to BTS’s “Butter.”[1]
  • The song can be seen as a metaphor for demons stealing souls; much like the Saja Boys compare the audience to a soda pop they need to drink, demons feed off the energy of human souls.
  • In the studio recording of Soda Pop, Andrew Choi confirmed a pronunciation error, which was caught by BTS's Jungkook during a live.
    • In the recording, he sings 'seonge jachiana, instead of 'seonge chajiana', which are the correct lyrics.
